Hello!

Some important reminders:

  • (Grades 1-5). Play Day is Wednesday. Dress for varied weather and bring a water bottle. (Students can come with sunscreen on but teachers won’t be helping apply it here.) The theme is Animal Zoo!

On Play Day we are providing Freezies. PARENTS THAT DO NOT WANT THEIR CHILD TO HAVE ONE MUST EMAIL ME and can send an alternative treat for their child to enjoy that day.
  • Report Cards open to parents on Thursday. Friday is the last day of school for the year.

Important Dates
  • June 22 – Student materials start coming home
  • June 24 – Play Day activities – This year’s theme is…..THE ZOO! Students can dress up if they wish. Freezies will also be provided. Email your teacher if your child is NOT eating a Freezie. (If they are eating one, no action is needed on your part.)
  • June 25 – SPIRIT DAY – PJ and Movie Day
  • June 25 – Report Cards open to parents – PLEASE DOWNLOAD YOUR CHILD’S REPORT CARD SO YOU HAVE A COPY
  • June 25 – Last day of classes for Kindergarten
  • June 26 – Last day of classes for Grades 1-5 – If your child will be ending the year early, please let the homeroom teacher know in advance

Please also read through the Northern Lights News every Friday - found on the school website here. Personal Mobile Devices and Social Media Use in Our School - K - 9 students will not be permitted to use personal mobile devices during the school day. Student devices brought to school must be out of sight and either powered off or set to silent. Some important reminders (especially the ones in RED !): Please ensure that you check the blog every Friday as this will be the main form of communication regarding student activities during the school day and upcoming events. To support your child’s literacy skills, I encourage you to set aside time each day for reading at home. Sharing stories together or letting your child choose their favourite books can make reading a fun and enjoyable experience. Your involvement plays a crucial role in developing their love for reading and improving their skills. Every two months, I send home a Scholastic book flyer. If you want to purchase books for your child to read at home, please use the code that is written on the flyer. Using my code helps me gain reward points that I can use towards buying books for the classroom library. You can also obtain a library card and check out books for your child free of cost.
