May 25 - 29
Hello everyone!
An important reminder:
- If your child will not be attending NLS for the next school year (2026-2027), please send me an email informing me. *This is not for students who will be attending Alex Munro - you do not need to send me an email*.
Here is what we have been up to this week:
Social Studies - This week, we reviewed Confederation and discusses Anglophone and Francophone perspectives on Confederation. We learned that although both groups did not agree to it, they were able to work through their differing opinions to help create Canada. We also talked about Canada's government and learned what the federal government and provincial governments are in charge of.
Writing - We worked extremely hard to finish off our informative writing! Ask your child about this :)
Math - We learned how we can classify triangles based on their angles and length of sides. We also learned about the different types of quadrilaterals.
P.E. - Gymnastics!
Science - We discussed the importance of classifying living things based on their appearance, habitat and structures. We learned about mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and birds as well and their external structures.
Art - Geometric art! Ask your child about this!
