May 19 - 22

 Hello 4C Families!

Here is what we have been up to this week: 

Math - We learning about angles and geometric properties. We learned how to use a protractor to measure angles, and did a fun scavenger hunt to practice our skills. We also learned about polygons and how we can figure out their geometric properties. 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Writing - We stared our new writing unit - informative writing. We learned about what informative writing is, and how to plan for our paragraphs! On Thursday and Friday, we spent some time planning out our paragraphs using the TIDE planner.


 


Social Studies - This week, we learned about how Canada became a county (Confederation) and the reasons for Confederation.

Spending time in nature to draw - We took some time today to spend time in nature and draw a nature inspired scene.
 

 

 

 


Visiting a goose and some ducks in our buddy class :)  The Grade 1s at NLS hatched and took care of goose eggs. Today, we met Brightbill, Stormy, and Pepper!

  • June 1 – Alex Munro Principal and Assistant Principal visiting NLS to meet our Carrington students
  • June 4 – Alex Munro Open House (for our Carrington families) - AT Alex Munro - see below for information
  • June 9 – 6:00 – In Person School Council Meeting
  • June 12 – 9:15 am – Volunteer Tea (invitations coming home soon to adults who have volunteered this year)
