April 27 - May 1

Hi Everyone!

Some important reminders below:

  • If you are interested in attending the family dance on May 14, please see the flier that was sent home with your child this week.
  • From May 4 - 15, we will be having a school-wide food drive. We encourage students to bring in non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and other pantry staples. Please avoid bringing items that are expired or require refrigeration.
  • If you are interested in volunteering on June 4 & 5 for the Casino Fundraiser, please check the email sent by Mrs. Brinson.
  • Families should continue to check the blog every week as we highlight the important learning we are doing in the classroom.

Here is what we have been up to this week:

Field Trip - We had our field trip to Vivo this Thursday. A beautiful day for a walk! Ask your child about this.

Writing - We wrote a story about a dinosaur. We used all the writing skills that were taught to us in Grade 4 (and from previous grades) to do our best writing. This is something that Mrs. Desai will be sharing with your child's future Grade 5 teacher.

Poetry - We learned about limericks and personification poems. We worked on our rough copies and good copies. Yesterday, we worked on and finished all the previous poems that we had not completed. Today, we created our title page and table of contents for all of our poems.
