March 16 - 19 - Please see this post about Executive Functioning Skills
Hi 4C Families!
Some important reminders below:
- Make sure you are working on your multiplication and division facts!
- Families should continue to check the blog every week as we highlight the important learning we are doing in the classroom.
I am looking forward to seeing you during conferences. Please come on time at the time you signed up. Check out our amazing documentation panels while you wait for your conference.
Here is what we have been up to this week:
Writing - This week, we finished our birthday party story. We discussed the importance of editing our work and spent a lot of time editing our work and our peer's work. A strategy we learned to use is putting our book up and reading our story out loud to edit and revise. We also did a whole class mini-lesson on neat printing. This is an important skill to learn as we transition to higher grades and so that when we write a message/story, our reader can clearly read and understand it.
Self Reflections - This week, we reflected on our actions and responsibilities as students. We will review these with our families at conferences.
Math - We learned about percentages. We also learned how fractions, decimals and percentages all represent the same part-whole relationship. We played some partner games to reinforce our learning.
Executive Functioning Skills used in Reading, Writing, and Math (and really across all subjects in different grades and schools) - We learned about our executive functioning skills and how we used them EVERYDAY! We also discussed that Mrs. Desai does help us strengthen these skills EVERYDAY!
P.E. - We learned a new game this week - 9 Square. It was so fun!
Social Studies - We began our Explorer research project this week. We researched on Chromebooks and began to create our poster on Canva.
