January 26 - 29
Hello 4C Families,
Here is what we have been up to this week:
On Monday morning, we had two guests come into our classroom (Trustee Laura Hack and Area Director Andrea Sarson). She read us some books and talked to us about her job.
ELAL - We wrote about YES DAY! (A day with no rules at Northern Lights School). We wrote about this topic to demonstrate our understanding of rights and responsibilities - and we needed to show Mrs. Desai how much we have improved as writers! We also learned about oral storytelling and how important it is to Indigenous cultures. Ask me about what oral storytelling is!
Math - In Math, we learned four strategies that we can use when multiplying three-digit numbers by one-digit numbers. Next week, we will learn how to apply these strategies in word problems and have a Show What You Know.
Health - Here is the link to the food guide that is available in many languages! We talked about how eating healthy, nutritious food helps us fuel our body and helps us learn for the whole day. Moving forward, please have a conversation with your child about packing healthier food options for snack and lunch.
Root of the Week - jur/jud/jus and flect/flex
